In midwinter the Boston sun is gone by about 4:15 to 4:30, so I usually steer couples toward an earlier ceremony, around 1 or 2 PM, to leave real daylight for portraits and a first look. Even fifteen or twenty extra minutes of light makes a big difference this time of year. If the timeline runs late, don't worry; I shoot a lot in candlelight and warm indoor glow, which is exactly the cozy, intimate mood winter does best.

Snow is never guaranteed in Boston, some Decembers are white, others are just grey and crisp, so I never build the day around it. I document what's real that day, whether that's flurries on Beacon Hill or a clear cold sky, and the city still photographs beautifully either way.
