Meet Eric
Boston & New England · Documentary Wedding Photography
I met Eric in 2010 at a photography workshop in Portland, Maine. We’ve worked alongside each other at more weddings than either of us has bothered to count, and he’s one of the few photographers I would hand a wedding to without a second thought.
Eric
Documentary Wedding Photographer for New England
Eric is a New England wedding photographer based in New Hampshire, covering weddings throughout Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and beyond. He’s been photographing since 2003 and has shot more than 500 weddings as a lead photographer since 2008. His documentary approach to wedding photography is built on the same philosophy that shaped his earlier work: shoot quietly, read the moment before it happens, and stay out of the way while it does.
Before Weddings
How Eric Became a Wedding Photographer
Eric started his photography career capturing rock climbers on cliffs around the country. That work taught him to work without being noticed, to anticipate moments and let them unfold naturally. When he left a career in investments, it was for a specific reason: his daughter’s due date coincided with a climbing trip to the Bugaboos. He chose to be present for his kids instead, which meant finding work that kept him close to home. Wedding photography let him do that, and over the past 16+ years, it’s become his calling.

What Makes Eric Different
Eric and I first met at a wedding photography workshop back in 2010 in Portland, Maine, and have been friends ever since. His laid-back personality complements the way he takes candid wedding photos: Eric waits for the moment instead of manufacturing it. Over the years he has photographed the best wedding venues across New England and beyond, from the Boston Harbor Hotel and the Boston Public Library to the Cliff House on the Maine coast and the barn at Gibbet Hill in Groton, with harbor weddings in Marblehead and Salem in between. He has carried the same approach to Wyoming, New Orleans, and the Cayman Islands.
Working with Eric means you get a dedicated photographer who can focus on doing what he does best for you, plus personal guidance from me and our planning team leading up to the wedding: timelines, the family photo list, and more. That lets Eric show up and focus on candid photos, and makes sure family photos and portraits are handled smoothly and efficiently without taking hours away from your guests.

When He’s Not Photographing
Eric spends his time in the White Mountains. Climbing in the summer, skiing in the winter, often with his son and Caraway, the Australian Shepherd his family rescued in 2025.
