Moraine Farm Wedding Information
The historic Moraine Farm is located on 175 acres of land in Beverly, Massachusetts. The beautiful grounds of the estate were designed in 1880 by Frederick Law Olmsted, the same man that designed New York’s Central Park. A hidden gem in the North Shore, Moraine Farms provides a secluded area for both small and large weddings. Catering is provided by Fireside, the exclusive caterers for Moraine Farm. Cocktail hour can be held on the Estate’s patio overlooking Wenham lake, while receptions take place under a large tent. The gardens, tea house, estate, and surrounding areas provide plenty of options for ceremony locations, as well as gorgeous photographs.
About The Estate at Moraine Farm
When you first look at Moraine Farm, the biggest thing that will stand out is the nature. The beautiful grounds of the estate were designed in 1880 by Frederick Law Olmsted, the same man that designed New York’s Central Park. The estate has been called “the finest existing example of Frederick Law Olmsted’s approach to planning a country estate,” by preeminent Olmsted scholar Charles E. Beveridge.
Olmsted created lawns, hedged, rustic stone walls, and a beautiful meadow, on top of collaborating with Boston architects Peabody and Stearns to design the massive stone terrace that faces the lake. They also extended the shingle-and-stone house into the landscape, completely emmercing the land and property together in a delicate manner.
The farm got its name from a low ridge of glacial debris, called a moraine, which Olmsted used to give an elevated vantage point for the paths and carriage drives that looped through 75 acres of coniferous forest, passed lake and meadow views, and climbed to an overlook on the edge of the 40-acre farm.
Overall, the work of Olmsted has created a lovely and unique place to celebrate your love with family and friends. This location is truly one of a kind.
Wedding Ceremony Locations
The wedding venue has various spots where you can say your vows, have cocktail hour, and a reception:

Gardens and Tea House: This tea house is charming and very romantic among the gardens that surround it. With fountains and various benches, it provides for great photo options, as well as an intimate ceremony location. The greenery and tea house is a fun way to spice up photos and create an elegant memory.
Estate House: If you desire your wedding to be smaller, hosting it in the estate house may just be what you are looking for. You are able to host the ceremony, cocktail hour, or reception here. During the off-season, Moraine Farms offers the estate house for cocktail parties for up to 100 people and seated dinners for up to 50 people.
