The Smith Barn's History
The Peabody Historical Society & Museum, which was established in 1896, serves as a hub for the preservation, exploration, and appreciation of Peabody's cultural legacy. The Society's collections, which span more than 300 years of local and national history, are significant on both a local and a national level. The Society preserves eight historic properties, a sizable library, substantial archives, and sizable collections of fine and decorative arts, textiles, and porcelain.
