The garden at the House of the Seven Gables is another outdoor option, and that one is on the waterfront. The hotel's wedding planner can walk you through either.

You can decide on a champagne toast, wine with dinner, or a cash bar charged by consumption or a flat hourly fee. They prepare an estimated cost once you give them your final guest count, usually the week before the wedding. The projected balance is due five days out. They take any credit card, or a bank check, but you'll still need a working card on file to cover an overage, and the card you paid with is what gets refunded or charged. No personal checks for the final payment.

Yes. Nathaniel's, their restaurant just off the lobby, can host a private reception. Couples also use it for engagement parties and showers. An elopement dinner is one of my favorite things to document, small rooms, real conversation, nobody performing. You don't need 200 people for the day to be worth photographing well.
