1620 Winery Wedding
1620 Winery is a rustic wedding venue in Plymouth Massachusetts.
1620 Winery Wedding
Restored in 2017, this winery offers a rustic yet elegant venue for your big day. This was at one time the Americas largest manufacturer of ship rigging. With over 9,000 square feet of space, The 1620 winery can accommodate large weddings on the South Shore of Boston.
Ceremony Location
As soon as guests walk into the main room of this south shore wedding venue they are greeted by tall beams, brick walls and large rustic sliding doors. This large Boston area wedding venue can comfortably fit a seated wedding ceremony for 200 wedding guests. As guests are finding a seat to watch you exchange vows with your partner the wedding party waits behind the large custom built wooden sliding doors in the Barrel Room. Part of the 2017 renovations was building out a bridal suit for brides to put the finishing touches on before the ceremony. The 1620 winery bridal suit was strategically placed just off the Barrel Room.
Cocktail Hour
This rustic south shore wedding venue has an outdoor patio with ocean views. During your tasting at the 1620 Winery the chef will give you several options to pick from for your cocktail hour. A few of the favorites are, Cheeseburger Sliders, Classic Bruschetta and Sweet Chili or Sriracha Boneless Chicken Bites to name just a few options.
After the wedding ceremony in the main room guests are invited to move to the outdoor patio during the warmer months. The patio is next to a working railroad track and at some time of the year a train will pass during cocktail hour. Once the winter months arrive the Barrel Room is where the cocktail hour is hosted. The 1620 Winery has a large section of wines for your guest to choose from there is something for everyone. During this time the 1620 Winery staff is hard at work inside the main room folding up the ceremony chairs, and flipping the ceremony side into a reception space.
Photo Locations
If you are looking for an indoor location for family photos you can’t go wrong with one of the several brick walls or the large sliding doors. I recommend taking all your family photos before the ceremony so not only can you enjoy all of cocktail hour but so can your family members.
If you can sneak away during sunset the railroad tracks will give your photographer the opportunity to take a lot of different types of photos without having to move your around too much. As the sun goes down and you are facing the sun it will put beautiful warm light on you. This type of light is ideal for nice portraits. If you Boston wedding photographer leaves you in the same location on shoots into the sun set now you have a silhouette on the train tracks.
Reception Space
As guests are welcomed back into the main room the will be amazing how quickly the staff transformed the space into a reception space. As the daylight goes down the uplighting on the bricks will create a party environment. Your guest will enjoy a three course meal that you customized with Chef Brent. The large rustic chandeliers are dimmed during dinner creating a nice dinner atmosphere. After dinner is over and all the formalities have been completed it’s time to dance!
